COLUMBUS, Ohio — Perhaps the best news for the Minnesota Gophers following a 1-1 tie at Ohio State on Saturday night is that they got a point to win their road series, and now they get a lengthy break.Aaron Huglen’s third goal of the season was the only offense for the Gophers, who fell behind early, forged a deadlock and settled for a point in the Big Ten standings after the Buckeyes prevailed in the post-overtime shootout. All things considered, with a team banged up and lines being shuffled, the Gophers’ coach was satisfied with what he saw.“I liked how we played tonight, start to finish,” Bob Motzko said. “We really limited our mistake. Throughout the lineup we were conscious in our effort, and we were banged up. We lost a couple guys in the first period.”Minnesota heads into the holiday break with a 9-5-4 overall mark, and a 5-4-3 record in the conference, which is good for third place behind Michigan State and Wisconsin. There’s been portions of every game during their current slump where the Colorado Avalanche felt good about how they played. That might be true about the effort Saturday night against the Philadelphia Flyers, but the mistakes were more frequent and more damaging. Travis Konecny scored twice, including an insurance goal on a penalty shot midway through the third period, to help propel the Flyers to a 5-2 win against the Avalanche at Ball Arena. That’s also five losses in six games (1-3-2) for the first time this season, though the two extra points for losing after regulation blunt some of the negative impact for the Avs. Still, this wasn’t the response the club was looking for after just an OK showing against Winnipeg in this building two nights prior.Avs coach Jared Bednar continued to tinker with the lineup, both before this contest started and while it was ongoing. Mikko Rantanen began the game as the second-line center, but eventually moved back to his normal role...Orange County woman discovers burglar inside her closet

I didn’t know.”Heinzman said she composed herself for a moment before the intruder eventually walked out of the ap...Anthony Davis leads Lakers to NBA In-Season Tournament title, 123-109 over Pacers
